The first photo was taken the day after Valentine's day and the one below was taken six days later. I was with out a Valentine this year, my hubby was on the East coast. I was kinda excited because I was able to by myself well actually I bought them for my daughters a dozen roses from Whole Foods. I have always admired them but I think they are way over priced so this was a splurge. I love the colors that they carry.
I also fell in love with the cakes shown above at Whole foods but I couldn't justify the calories!! The cakes were there again today when I was there so I took a photo on instagram. I think they are so beautiful and tempting!!
I did send a few of these fun Valentine Day postcards out they were made by Rifle card co. I thought they were adorable!! I never ended up making the homemade cards that I intended to make. How lame is that. I had very good intentions and then the time just ran out!! I would like to know where does the time go, it flies by so darn fast!!
I have been busy putting together class kits for Terri Brush's retreat that is coming up in March. I will be teaching a class there and traveling up to Oregon with my buddy Jenny Doh who will be speaking at the event!!
I have finished a few pieces that I just listed, you can find them here. I found an amazing vintage French stanhope binocular with an image of the Eiffel tower inside, it dangles from a vintage goofus glass bird. Just stunning! I was recently at the gem show where I stocked up on some stunning pearls and gemstones and have used them generously in this last round of pieces.
I love the medal shown above it is solid sterling silver and reads, No cross No crown and the back side reads ,God is Love.
Had to share this, love this Victorian Tintype that I found at the flea this weekend. Makes me laugh every time I look at it. Can you even imagine how darn hot you would be wearing that dress to the beach!
My friend Julie and I went treasuring hunting down at the beach yesterday afternoon. We were having a very stormy day, but when she came over the sun had just started peeking out. We thought the storm had passed so we went on the search for heart shaped rocks and sea glass. I shot this photo when we arrived at the sand. We were on the beach for about five minutes when we got dumped on with rain. So our treasure hunting did not turn out very prosperous! I came home soaking wet with a couple of heart shaped rocks in my plastic bag!!
The rain made It a perfect day to work on creative stuff. I brought out some rubber stamps that I had made in Mexico when I went to Angela Ritchie's Ace Camps with instructor, Geninne D Zlatkins. I started carving anchors and arrows. The anchor was perfect for the day and arrows for Valentines day cards!
Later that evening my husband and I decided last minute to go to the B52's concert and had a blast!! I have been a huge fan for many years! It was awesome, I felt like I was seventeen again, they played a lot of their old music pre- Love Shack which is my Favorite!! Unfortunately, my phone took horrible photos last night! We probably ended up with the worst seat in the house but it was still pretty good it was at the Grove and it is a pretty small theatre! We actually bought the tickets right before they came out!!!
Pretty much a perfect day for me!!!

I can't believe my sweet baby girls turned 13 today!!!! I woke up this morning to the doorbell ringing and my good friend/ neighbor and her daughter singing Happy Birthday and carrying a bundle of balloons,presents and a tray with an ice-cream cake and sparkling cider!! What lucky girls such a wonderful way to be woke up!!! The photo below is them ten years ago. Wow, I can't believe how fast time goes by!!!!!!

I am so lucky to have such sweet girls!! It has been so fun to watch identical twin girls grow up and become such incredible individuals. I watched them sleep last night and just wished I could have one more moment with them being little with sweaty little heads in their onesies sleeping side by side in their crib. Such a great memory.

My good friend recently gave me the book, Simple Abundance; A daybook of comfort and joy by Sarah Ban Breathnach. My friend knows that I am not a big reader so she thought I would be able to handle taking the time to read this books short messages each day.
Smart girl, I actually have really enjoyed reading it everyday. I especially loved today's message. We sometimes need to step back and think about what it is that we love to do, why it makes us happy and how do we make it special and then appreciate that. Not waste our time comparing ourselves to others or wishing we had their gift. God has given us all special gifts, its just figuring out what makes yours special. And taking the time to let others know how much we appreciate their special talents!!
I am just getting ready to wash down our chalk board wall in our house. This is the chalk drawing that my girls did at our house over the holidays. I love that they chose Kirby the elf, from "the Year without a Santa Clause", Kirby was the elf that wanted to be a Dentist. He has always loved been my favorite character in this movie. I loved the island of the misfits!!
We were blessed to have had a wonderful holiday. My parents came to visit us from Michigan for the month of December. I am lucky to have such great parents. My mom makes me crazy but she also makes me laugh like no other person does. She has such a generous heart and I love her to death!!
The gift this year at our house were camera's. We bought a fun instamatic camera and a nikon camera. You can see in the photo above that my Mother is holding one of the instant photos in her hand. I drove everyone crazy caring that big thing around making everything pose every five minutes. I just get so excited about having the photos instantly. I feel like a little kid again!!! The photo above was taken in Big Bear Lake. You can see from the photo above that there was not very much snow in Big Bear when we went. The girls were actually wearing short sleeves. That was a bummer!!! We all love the snow so much, we were all disappointed not to see any.
My poor dad is actually hiding from me using the instamatic photos for a shield. I was armed with both cameras.. .....
and was able to get a photo when he let his guard down.
Last year was bitter sweet. A few of my dearest friends lost their Daddy's . My heart ached for them over the holiday. They were all very special men and amazing dads. This made me appreciate the time I was able to share with my Dad this holiday. He is lucky to be here. He survived a massive stroke that happened eight years ago. He had to relearn how to walk and talk. Walking is not as easy as it use to be for him but we dragged him around all over the place. Even to California Adventures in Disneyland. Which I have never been to over the week of Christmas. We went to California Adventure because Disneyland was actually closed when we arrived. It was 2 o'clock and they were not going to let anyone into the park until after 5pm. I never heard of that. Now I know why I haven't been there. It is WAY to busy!!
I love the misspelled poisonous sign on the trophy to warn off everyone from the Holly. The photos below were taken with our new Nikon camera. There are some really fun options to use on this camera. Love the color tint you can use and the panoramic.
I always feel a bit sad when the holidays are over. Especially because the time with my parents end. I have decided to start a gratitude journal this year and write down five things that I am grateful for and why each day. It is a good way to keep your mind thinking in a positive light.
