Steel cut beads

I bought the last patch of vintage steel cut beads that one of my favorite bead stores in Laguna Beach had.  I am just in love with these tiny wonderful beads. I think I have lost about five years of my vision from working with them.  They are tinnie tiny and have a wonderful color to them.  The thing I love best about them is that they darken with time.  I wrapped a strand around my neck and tied into a knot and have been wearing them since early summer and I just love the way they go perfectly with everything.  And the earrings are super light weight.

Around the corner

Christmas and the holidays are just around the corner.  I have been a busy bee making new goodies to list on etsy.  I have used lots of gorgeous colorful gemstones, amazing forgotten treasures from France and stunning quartz pieces. Mixed with a bit of leather. I will start to list some pieces today.  All pieces purchased until Christmas will be beautifully gift wrapped and ready to go under the tree.  If you are anything like me, you may just shop for yourself and have your husband sign the tag. Hee, Hee!

Girl Power!!

The picture above is one of my daughters friends, that was taken by my daughter this morning on our way to school. I just had to share it because of what she said this morning!!  We were talking about Halloween and what they were going to dress up as.  My daughter's friend  shared with us that a couple of their friends asked if she wanted to dress up like a Barbie, like they were.  She answered them nicely by saying, " No, thank you.  I am going to be the Cookie Monster and if I were to go as a Barbie, I would be Ken."  I almost pied my pants and I said good for you!!  I loved the fact that she is confident in herself that she does not feel like she has to be perfect!!  You go Cookie Monster!!! I wish all girls could be as confident in theselves and not be afraid to be the Cookie monster and to know they are as strong as Ken and don't have to be as perfect as Barbie!!!  

Speaking of Ken, I had to put out a special THANK YOU to my partner in crime, Pam who I felt like we were two Kens, loading and unloading my car at the Remnants show this weekend.  She was an incredible help to me!!! Such a great friend, I am very blessed to have!!  

The show was wonderful full of amazing things and people!!!  Judy really does an amazing job with it!!  

 
 
The picture above is of Pam and Lisa Mesa, who is married to the out of this world talented, Tim!!! They always have the most incredible booth were every they go!!  You may have seen there booth at Alameda or Farm Chicks!!  

Pam also made me the wonderful banner that is hanging behind them.  She will be selling them in her etsy store for Christmas.  Everything that she is makes is breathtaking!!! So I will give a heads up when she list some because I know they will go fast!

 Can you believe that Christmas is going to be here before we know it!  My daughters are actually watching Christmas movies tonight.  EEEKKS!!  I find that so funny, it has been so HOT here over the weekend, but it has cooled off tonight and it must be giving them that warm, cozy feeling!!

Speaking of Christmas, I am actually getting ready to head out to San Luis Obispo this Friday to set up for the Remnants of the Past vintage show hosted by Judy Watkins. It is the perfect place to start your holiday shopping.   Pam, came over today and helped me figure out the layout of the booth.  My poor living room looks like a mock up booth right now.  I am amazed at how quickly I can fill up space!  Pam will be my partner in crime this weekend!
