LIsting some new pieces on etsy. I thought that I would share some photos. The picture above is a wonderful necklace that has a vintage goofus glass piece mixed with a vintage souvenir locket, moss aqua and ruby gemstones.
Another great necklace is the piece shown above and below. It has a vintage relic that dangles from a sterling silver Jeanne of Arc. A vintage rhinestone piece connects to an ornate sterling hook in the back and dangles a wonderful old Victorian compass. I love the old Victorian charms, they always have so much detail to them.
Above are photos of an amazing necklace. PIctures do not do this piece justice. A vintage French locket is hung from a beautiful mother of pearl necklace. Gorgeous gemstones accent this piece.
Below is one of my favorite pieces, it is also featured my book Rejuvenated Jewels. It is a double or triple wrap necklace that is loaded with beautiful gemstones, pearls and vintage rhinestones. It also has a vintage cameo, mercury glass beads and a sweet religious medal. It is a very versatile piece and can take on lots of different looks.
The necklace above is loaded with vintage charms that I found a long time ago. I found them at one of my favorite flea markets in Michigan held at an old barn. I think they might be vintage cracker jack charms. I just love all the funny images on the charms. A vintage Relic from France dangles from the center piece.
Some more photos of the wrap necklace. Showing how different the piece looks depending on how you wear it.
Pam got me addicted to Bravo's new show, Nine by Design. I love watching Courtney and Bob and seeing what they come up with next. The Novogratz's have a great way of mixing style with real life and not being afraid to live and entertain in their home. It makes me feel a lot less guilty about all the scratches on my floors from my kids roller skating all over it. I needed to get a new rug for my living room, so after watching the show I thought I would be a little daring and have fun with this cow hide rug that I found at Ikea. I got the sofa at Anthropologie and the chairs were a bargain at the flea market. I am going to have them recovered but the faded red velvet is kinda fun for now. My kids are freaked out by the rug and will not go near it. At least it keeps the room clean! Ha! My friend and I were laughing today about how whenever we get something new something crazy happens to it. Like when we moved into our house we had a bunch of dry wall work done, no sooner than it was finished we had a flood in our master bath that leaked into our down stairs bath which ruined the ceiling that we just had redone, than we had crazy rains that year and had a leak which left another mark. It just adds character, right! Always a reminder that it isn't going with you.
I just love getting up early on a Sunday morning having a great cup of coffee, going to Church with my whole family and coming home and getting a million things done. I feel like I have really accomplished a great day! I know we are suppose to rest on Sunday's but getting that check list done sure is an awesome feeling. I crave home grown tomatoes every summer and I always forget to plant them. So this year I made a point of buying a bunch of tomato plants. Which have slowly been dying in my back yard over the last couple of weeks because I keep putting off planting them. Well today I got busy and got those bad boys into some pots.
Along with tomatoes I planted a lot of herbs. The above photo has little bio-degradable containers that came beautifully boxed in a wicker basket from a sweet shop in Santa Barbra. It was a surprise Mothers Day gift from my husband. The only problem was that he gave it to me three years ago. I finally planted the little guys and it is so cool they are actually growing. I don't think that I have ever planted anything from seeds. My parents would be very disappointed in me if they knew that. They always have a big beautiful garden.
I did try to plant an actual garden before using small plants but we live on top of a hill and have a slope below us. We have lots of bunnies who love to eat my plants . The garden did not last very long. So I thought it would be better to keep the plants contained in something I can move around.
I have finally found something that I can keep alive. Succulents I love them!!!
I took these photos in my backyard tonight as it started to get dark. It was such a beautiful evening. I had to share the photos. There is nothing like digging into the dirt and getting your hands dirty. It feels so good! Especially in the spring, I cannot wait to see how the herbs and tomatoes grow. Another reminder of how mighty God is and how amazing that all of these flowers each came from one seed.
