Listing some more girls tonight! Special, special girls. The one pictured above is for a true collector of vintage European treasures. I had so much fun on Thursday!! Spent the day at Somerset with Jenny and the Somerset girls giggling and having a ton of fun photographing new jewels for the September issue. I always have a blast with Jenny!! I will be leaving for Michigan for a month of lightning bug hunting and late night talks with some of my favorite people tomorrow!!!
Before I left for Artfest this year, I made a conscious decision to watch the amount of weight that I brought to Seattle with me. We are all to familiar now with the cost of additional luggage and the price of shipping boxes. Pam had a good suggestion for me to cover a light box and then use it for display. That was very challenging to me so I decided to look in my art-room for something that I could use. Of coarse I decided to do this the day before I left for Seattle. Which meant that I had to use things that I already had in my room. I found a large light box that my friend Carol Parks had given me at her Valentine's Party. I decided to use some of my favorite things to cover the box to make it extra special. I gathered some beautiful linens and a fabric picture frame that I had found at the French flea markets. I have been storing these lovely linens that I had found and not putting them into any use. I thought it was a good time to use them. I also made trim out of old French paper. It was a great way to hold and protect my goodies that I would be selling and then use later for display at my sale. It is amazing when you look around your space what you may have stashed away to later become a useful treasure.
These are a few things that I have on the table next to my computer.................. Earrings to list, shells collected by Bella on our house boat trip ( I love that she counted the shells and placed them in an empty jelly jar that once held her Nana's homemade raspberry jam ). A canvas house project that I had made in Lynn Whipple's class years ago. I love Lynn and I loved making this project. It is full of photos of my family. Makes me realize how big the kids are getting. I sometimes forget how gosh darn cute they were when they were little. I wish I could just have them little like that for one more day so I could squeeze and love on them!!

After losing one of my favorite soft comfy blankets on our trip. I went to one of my favorite stores in search for a new one. The store is called La La and it makes you feel happy the moment you enter. Actually it makes you want to crawl in between the sheets and take a long nap. Everything in this store is yummy. The owner Kerry Cassill has a great eye and the fabric designs are always changing. Everything is made from unbelievable soft cotton that always stays the same. I own a few of the comforters and I tell you they are the softest things around. They feel great layered on top of each other. She has an amazing collection of clothing and accessories to boot. I love her summer dresses and skirts. La La is located in south Laguna Beach. It should be called Yummy Yummy!!

I must admit that I am very grateful that my journal with all of my memories from our past four years of house boating did not fly out the carrier too. I have taken this journal on all of our house boat trips. I have everyone who goes with us outline their hand and write three things that they will remember about their trip. This year I asked everybody to do a self portrait. This is such a great way to keep track of the kids growth through the years.
